Vincent Mele

Vincent Mele is an internationally recognised cyber security expert and keynote speaker, known for his pioneering work in blockchain technology and digital finance. With a career that spans law, engineering, and financial technology, he brings a rare blend of technical depth and strategic insight to cyber risk management. Vincent helps organisations understand the risks and opportunities of the evolving digital landscape – particularly in the areas of digital assets, custody, and security frameworks. With over a decade of experience, he has supported central banks, global consultancies, crypto exchanges, and fintech start-ups, building secure infrastructure for the next generation of financial systems.

In 2012, Vince co-founded a wallet security start-up that went on to support some of the world’s largest crypto exchanges. He later became Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel at Armory Technologies, where he helped develop one of the most secure Bitcoin wallets ever made. His expertise expanded further during his time as a Security Engineer at INOC, LLC, where he managed server security, developed ISO 27001 and CAS(T) compliant policies, and conducted vulnerability testing and GDPR training. Vince then joined Accenture in 2018, rising to Senior Manager in the Digital Asset and CBDC group, leading major projects on virtual asset infrastructure and national digital currencies. He contributed to several influential industry papers, including co-authoring the Digital Dollar Project white paper.

Today, Vince is the Founder and Director of Otranto Limited, a full-service consultancy that advises global clients on strategy, risk, cyber security, and digital asset governance. His work helps shape secure digital ecosystems for both public institutions and private firms. Otranto sits at the crossroads of cyber risk, regulation, and innovation – an ideal space for Vince, whose background in commercial law and engineering allows him to address both the strategic and operational challenges facing digital finance. He is a qualified solicitor in England and Wales, a member of the Wisconsin Bar, and has provided legal counsel in the energy, technology, and environmental sectors throughout his career.
