“Sumit did a superb job at chairing a panel discussion in our interdisciplinary workshop on Scientific VR at the Crick (joint event with Goldsmiths). This was a difficult job as we had a panel of scientists from very different background (bioscientists and computer scientists) talking about how to use VR for science (some were enthusiastic and some sceptical). We also had a wide spectrum of audience ranging from domain experts to students. Sumit was excellent in keeping the conversation on track, yet inclusive and fun. I was surprised of the width and depth of issues we were able to discuss, and how pleased everyone was at the end (I usually see a lot of unresolved disagreement at panel discussions). We were so happy that we asked Sumit to chair our session – I cannot imagine anyone else doing a better job as it required someone who truly understand the science (multidisciplinary) and at the same time can very quickly come up with witty comments that really got everyone involved, and actually agreeing with each other!”
