Sir Jeremy Fleming has worked as the Director of the Government Communications Headquarters since 2017, having fostered a reputation as an expert on cyber security and cyber intelligence. During his tenure so far, Jeremy has overseen the creation of the National Cyber Security Centre, the development of a Manchester strategic base of GCHQ, the creation of a National Cyber Force and led the GCHQ’s centenary celebrations. Having overseen significant growth for GCHQ, Jeremy has also ensured that there has been an increased focus on diversity and inclusion at GCHQ – demonstrating his prowess as a business leader. In addition to his responsibilities at GCHQ, Jeremy is also an Honorary Colonel of JSSO, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a Fellow of the Institute of Engineering and Technology. In reward of his commitments, Jeremy was appointed Companion of the Order of Bath in 2017 and KCMG in 2021, commending his Services to National Security.

Having also been awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Science by the University of Gloucestershire, Jeremy is one of the country’s most distinguished experts on national security and cyber security.
