Michael Daniel

Michael Daniel is a highly regarded cybersecurity strategist and advisor, celebrated for his expertise in protecting global infrastructure and addressing critical cyber threats. As a former Cybersecurity Coordinator for President Barack Obama, Michael advised on policies at the highest levels, shaping the United States’ response to emerging cyber challenges. His deep experience and insights make him an in-demand speaker, renowned for demystifying complex cybersecurity issues and offering actionable guidance to diverse audiences.

Michael’s journey in cybersecurity began early in his career as a Research Assistant at the Southern Center for International Studies, where he delved into international security dynamics. This foundational experience led him to a pivotal role as a Program Examiner in the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), where he shaped cybersecurity and IT policy across various federal agencies. His work at the OMB was instrumental in laying the groundwork for his future as a thought leader in cybersecurity, merging technical expertise with a keen understanding of policy impacts.

Today, Michael is the President and CEO of the Cyber Threat Alliance (CTA), a role that places him at the forefront of global threat intelligence sharing and cybersecurity collaboration. Under his leadership, the CTA has strengthened its members’ ability to detect, prevent, and mitigate cyber threats, contributing to a safer digital landscape. Additionally, Michael’s contributions are recognised through his memberships in the Forbes Technology Council and Aspen Cybersecurity Group, where he collaborates with industry leaders to drive cybersecurity innovation.
