Matthew Rosenquist is a seasoned cybersecurity leader, trusted advisor and keynote speaker with multiple decades of experience. As Founder of Cybersecurity Insights and serving as Chief Information Security Officer at Mercury Risk, he brings a unique combination of deep technical expertise and business-facing communication skills. Organisations engage him to help translate complex cyber risk into strategic decisions and to help audiences understand how to build resilient cybersecurity programmes.

Matthew began his career working in internal investigations, where he focused on cases involving fraud, theft and embezzlement. His early experience in understanding risk and human behaviour laid the groundwork for his transition into cybersecurity. Joining Intel Corporation as a Cyber Security Strategist, he applied these investigative skills to a broader security context, helping the company strengthen its defences and respond to emerging threats. Over more than 24 years at Intel, he advanced through a range of leadership roles that combined technology, risk management and strategic planning. He built Intel’s first 24/7 security operations centre, served as an Incident Commander, and led teams responsible for major security operations and crisis response.

In recent years, Matthew has expanded his influence as a strategic advisor to boards, governments, academia and industry groups. His work reflects more than 30 years in the security field and centres on advising executives on emerging threats, security governance, digital ethics and risk management. He currently oversees cybersecurity strategy at Mercury Risk, leads Cybersecurity Insights, and is recognised for his thought leadership across social media and at public events, where he shares insights that help organisations strengthen trust and resilience in the digital age.
