In 2006, Laurence became a Senior Developer Evangelist and Product Manager for Microsoft, again using his credible knowledge of emerging technologies with the internationally renowned business.

In 2013, Laurence left Microsoft to become an AI Lead for Google, before returning to education and achieving a Graduate Certificate in Artificial Intelligence from Stanford University. Armed with new knowledge of artificial intelligence, Laurence was promoted to Staff Developer Advocate for Google in 2013, a role he continues today, and Lead Artificial Intelligence Advocate in 2018.
