Jane Frankland is a globally recognised cyber security thought leader, author and speaker with almost 30 years of experience working at the forefront of technology, risk and leadership. From founding the world’s first female-owned ethical hacking firm to being recognised as a UNESCO Trailblazing Woman in Tech, her career has been defined by impact, influence and advocacy. She is widely hired as a speaker for her ability to connect cyber security, leadership and inclusion, helping organisations understand why people, culture, and ethics are central to staying secure.
Jane began her professional life in the early 1990s, starting in design before moving into recruitment with Hays Accountancy and Finance, where she developed strong commercial and people management skills. She then transitioned into technology and cyber security, holding senior and director level roles at companies including Corsaire and Elegy, before becoming Europe Region Lead and Head of Business Development at SensePost, a leading global ethical hacking firm. She later founded and led her own businesses, including KnewStart, and went on to hold senior leadership positions within major organisations such as serving as Managing Director at Accenture, as well as other Fortune 500 and FTSE listed firms. These roles gave her deep, first hand insight into how cyber risk, governance and organisational culture intersect at scale.
In 2016, Jane founded the IN Security Movement, a global initiative addressing the cyber skills shortage by tackling the lack of diversity in the industry. Through scholarships, mentoring and education, the movement has supported more than 400 women into cyber security careers, representing hundreds of thousands of dollars in training investment. She is the bestselling author of ‘IN Security: Why a Failure to Attract and Retain Women in Cybersecurity Is Making Us Less Safe’, and has since developed the IN Security Code of Conduct. Alongside this, Jane serves on advisory boards, judges international awards, lectures at leading universities and works with governments, international institutions and major technology events. Her work has been widely covered by national and international media, including major newspapers, television and radio.
Jane is hired as a speaker because she brings authority, credibility and purpose to conversations about cybersecurity. Drawing on decades of leadership experience, she helps organisations understand how culture, inclusion and ethical decision-making directly affect security outcomes. Her talks challenge assumptions, inspire change and provide practical insight for leaders looking to build resilient, future-ready cybersecurity strategies.
