Vishal Amin

Vishal Amin is a highly sought-after cybersecurity and national security expert, known for combining front-line military experience with senior leadership in the technology sector. As a former United States Marine Corps fighter pilot and special operations officer, he brings a rare perspective on resilience, risk and strategic thinking. During his time as Microsoft’s Defence Security Solutions Leader, Vishal was responsible for securing their $6.5 billion National Security Contract. With his ability to translate complex security challenges into clear, actionable insights, Vishal is regularly invited to speak at conferences and forums around the world.

Vishal’s career began in the US Marine Corps, where he trained as a fighter pilot and later served in special operations. His military service instilled in him the discipline, adaptability and leadership qualities that would go on to shape his professional trajectory. Transitioning from aviation and combat operations into the technology industry, Vishal held various influential positions at organisations such as NTT Data and Okta, and played key leadership roles in start-ups, including serving as Vice President of Patriot Consulting. In 2020, he joined Microsoft as a Security Executive, where he was responsible for the investment of security services, software, and Cloud within the company’s Enterprise Manufacturing and Retail business. Vishal would go on to rise the ranks in Microsoft’s cybersecurity space, exiting the company as GM & Executive Leader of the organisation’s National Security Group. During his time at Microsoft, he became a Presidential Scholar with the Stand-To Leadership Programme, graduating from the George W. Bush Presidential Centre. In 2024, Vishal founded the Spades Institute, a National Security non-profit making waves in both the private and public sectors through their dedication to democracy, freedom and ethics.

Throughout his incredible career, Vishal has acted as an advisor to the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business, and currently serves as an Operating Partner at Crosspoint Capital Partners and is an advisory board member of Wiz, which was acquired by Google for $32 billion in 2026. An industry leader and admired veteran, his work with the Travis Manion Foundation has seen him featured in an Under Armour campaign and on PBS’s ‘A Capital Fourth’.
